One, No One and a Hundred Thousand reading schedule
I apologize for this late update, January has been QUITE the month. I’m happy to announce that everything is ready to go and we will begin our first slow read of the year in just a few days!
By popular demand (of exactly 20 people) we will be reading One, None and a Hundred-thousand by Luigi Pirandello. I will be using the classic 1933 translation by Samuel Putnam, which is copyright free and readily available online. There are other two, more recent translations on the market, an excellent one by William Weaver and the dreaded “fresh, modern translation” in American English by Kevan Houser (yikes); buy that one at your own risk, and if you do, let me know!

Each book is about 10 to 20 pages long. This is going to be a relaxed little journey to keep us company as I prepare for the two big books we’ll tackle in 2025: Arturo’s Island by Elsa Morante and The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco.

I got the Putnam translation. Also, I was in a brick-and-mortar bookstore today, one of the few left where I live, and found a copy of Arturo's Island, translated by Ann Goldstein. I hope it is good enough.
Hooray! I'm ready. I found the Russian translation too. I'll read it in parallel with the English.
